Preparations for Our Trip to Vancoucer are in full swing

The most important news of the day today:

German Fan Fest will operate in the lot separating Steamworks pub from the Transcontinental restaurant in Gastown, with Steamworks catering the tented facility that will accommodate several hundred patrons.

The operation will feature Kostritzer beer, Thuringian bratwurst and German entertainment.

Officials are tight-lipped about plans for the site, but a German website confirms the public food and beverage operation will be open from Feb. 11 to Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m.

Admission will be free until 5 p.m., with a cover charge applying later when entertainment will be provided by the Thuringian band Acoustica.
